A Star Sticker
This morning we went over to Mike's sister's house for awhile, and while we were there, she gave all of the kids stickers. The only shape that Gabriel knows and can say is a star, which makes it his favorite. So of course he picked out a star sticker that Sarah put on his hand. He was very proud of his sticker and kept saying "star" all day long. When he got up from his nap, his sticker had fallen off of his hand and he was insistant that I find it. Unfortunately it was nowhere to be seen until he climbed back up on his bed to help me look, and then I found it on the bottom of his sock. He was so excited when I found it and had me put it right back on his hand. This simple pleasure made me think about my own life and how malcontent I can be. With all of the toys that Gabriel has, this simple star sticker was better than any of them. God has blessed us well beyond our needs and yet I don't take the time to consider these blessings which are oftentimes well beyond the equivalent of a star sticker. In fact, I oftentimes just look at what others have and complain that I don't have as much or as good of things as them. I sure am glad that God can use simple things like the joy of a star sticker to a two year old to remind me of his unfailing love and abundant provision for me! Now I just have to remember to think about that star sticker the next time I am not content with what God has given me...

How wonderful that God has blessed you with two wonderful children and then uses them to remind you of His blessings.
That's the best thing to keep littler kids amused for a long time; a simple little sticker to look at and talk about. It feels good when they can brag about something that they know how to say, like "star". It doesn't have to be big, it just has to make them happy. FYI... if you need any stickers, please, i have plenty, a whole small box of them, and there are some stars in there too ;)
