Two Tuesdays...

Those of you who actually check our blog on a somewhat regular basis will have noticed that it's been awhile since the last posting. That's because life has been a bit crazy and stressful for us the past few weeks, with things seeming to hit on Tuesdays...

Two Tuesdays ago (2/6) within 15 minutes of getting out of bed I found out that Mike had been rear-ended on his way to work and the Civic was most likely totaled, and that my brother's girlfriend, Anna, was in the hospital with a ruptured appendix - what a start to the day! Thankfully Mike was not hurt in the accident except for a minor stiff neck later in the day and Anna is feeling much better at this point although it may still be a bit of a recovery for her. It's a good thing that all of Mike's accidents occur at less than 15 mph since this one involved a tractor trailer rear-ending a mini-van that then rear-ended Mike's little car. We have also found out since then (although it was over a week later since we had to file the claim ourselves since we just took collision off the car two months ago!) that the car is totaled which is actually probably a blessing in disguise since it will help us to be able to get a mini-van to fit all of the car seats in and keep the CRV for Mike to use on bad weather days. So anyways, the past few weeks have been spent dealing with the stress of losing a car and trying to find a new one as well as a visit to Mike's parents for his dad's birthday and a trip out to Philly to visit Anna. (We haven't found a van yet, so if anyone knows of a good Sienna or Odyssey for sale please let us know!)

Mike was sick with a bad headcold the few days after the accident, so he stayed home which made it so I wasn't stuck without a car. However, that leads to the next Tuesday when Gabriel came down with a fever around mid-day and then Adalia in the evening. Neither one of them has ever really had a fever before, so I was a bit worried, especially when Gabriel's hung at around 103 degrees most of the night even with tylenol and Mike was working so I couldn't get out to get more medicine for the two of them. Thankfully I had just enough to last until Mike made it home with more. However, they are still both sick. Their fevers finally broke Thursday evening, but now they both have really bad coughs and runny noses and are just plain miserable and irritable. It has not been a fun week around our house! And to top it all off we had a big snow/ice storm which we weren't able to clear off the driveway right away since Mike had to work and I can only do so much being 6 months pregnant, so we (mostly Mike) have spent any spare time chipping away at the 4 inch thick layer of ice on our driveway this week. Although we now finally have it down so that our cars have places to park and can get out without running over the ice.

So that is the update on our family from the past few weeks. If you could please keep us in your prayers, as well as Anna, we would appreciate it! I look forward to writing a more positive post next time hopefully stating that we found a car and the kids are well again, but until then, please pray specifically for my negative outlook on life right now. Thanks!

Hey, i'm definantly praying for you all because it must be a hard time to be going through with everything happening all at once and nothing seems to be going right. Just know that you may not see it, but GOD has something spectacular planned for you and he does everything for a reason. Give it time, you've got nothing to lose with GOD on your side! :)
