Silly Walks
If you have ever had to entertain three kids under the age of three while your husband is looking for parts at Home Depot, you probably know that it is not an easy task! However, I had an enlightenment the last time this happened and was reminded of my days helping with Kairo (the middle school youth group at the church I grew up in) and a skit that I believe we stole from Monty Python (which was an inspiration for many of our skits!) that involved 'silly walks'. Basically, they just did these weird types of walks which I modified to my audience of a two a half year old and a 14 month old to 'animal walks'. It worked quite well at occupying them as we went around the more secluded aisles of Home Depot walking and making noises like horses, frogs, rabbits, roosters, and many other animals. If you are ever in a situation like this, and don't mind looking a little foolish, I highly recommend doing animal walks or any variation thereof! For other fun ideas, watch a Monty Python movie - my personal favorite is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Although I haven't seen it in a long time, it sure does bring back memories...
