Update on my Dad

My dad had tests done yesterday and they found that the cancer has spread to his spine and to his brain. The good news is that there is a new drug which comes inpill form that has proven to be very effective for this type of cancer for non-smokers. He will be started on the drug as soon as it can be approved by his insurance company which will hopefully be tomorrow and then it will be over-nighted to him so that he can start it asap. They should know within a month whether or not it is working and if they need to resort to more traditional chemo which has not proven to be as effective. Encouragingly, his oncologist has some patients who have used this pill and they have been cancer free for 2 years now. Please pray for the medicine to get approved and delivered quickly. It is a praise that the medicine is in pill form because my dad wouldn't do as well with the traditional administration of chemo which is intraveinously. Thank you for your prayers.
